磁 is the pull between things. The left side 石 (stone) anchors the kanji in the lodestone — magnetite — the original natural magnet. The right side 玆 hints at "this here, gathered." Together: the gathering stone. The mini-game above makes you the magnet: hover, and iron filings drift across the screen and stick to your cursor. Eight filings collected and the kanji is yours.
